Vespa scooters enjoyed a high place during their heydays, but as time passes, these classics from the past get old, rusty and useless, not to mention that their fuel efficiency would be too poor by modern standards. All that aside, there’s still a lot of people in love with the old scooter. Bel & Bel give people a chance to own the Vespa, albeit in an entirely different way.

The US President Barack Obama, and Vice President Joe Biden are expected to make important announcements that will provide stimulus for a greener future. An Obama administration official has said that the President will make announcement regarding Smart Grids during his visit to Florida. Obama’s announcement of a Smart Grid will be the government’s largest investment of economic stimulus funds in clean energy.

The Volkswagen Pholeum concept from designer Alexei Mikhailov is inspired by the living plant cell tissue system. It is designed as a personal mobility unit, with room for just one person. The concept offers mobility and motorcycle-like travel, while taking a chariot form for seating. Wheels placed out of the body add to its looks and allow it to maneuver in any direction.

Electric cars have been hailed as the modern, non-polluting vehicles, but it’s too early to shower them with all the praise, say scientists. In fact, if things don’t change dramatically, electric vehicles may not be very green even in 2030. The problem of course doesn’t lie entirely in the zero-emission electric cars, it has more to do with the generation of electricity for the vehicles.

I have heard tales of long-distance truck drivers relieving themselves in gallon milk jugs instead of stopping for a restroom break.  Sometimes they have been thrown out the window instead of stopping for proper disposal.  Now there is a solution to eliminate this potential biohazard road litter in addition to reducing your vehicles NOx emissions. Buckeye Bullet 2 - Fastest Hydrogen Car in the World

The Buckeye Bullet 2 recently became the first hydrogen car to go past the 300mph mark, and created a new Land Speed Record for a hydrogen powered vehicle. During its run over the Bonneville Salt Flats, the car clocked an average speed of 300.992 mph, with a top speed of 304 mph.

Toyota Prius Hybrid Plugged In For Electricity

As the number of electric vehicles, or plug-in hybrids increases, there is a good chance that they may put greater strain on the grid with a lot of vehicles going for a recharge simultaneously. Google is currently working on a solution to this problem, by integrating vehicles with the electric grid so as to minimize strain and help utilities charge better.

Toyota Motor Corporation, of Japan, has launched the HS250h sedan – the car maker’s first dedicated hybrid model, under the premium Lexus brand.  Toyota, the biggest automobile manufacturer in the world, says it has got orders worth 6 months of targeted sales in Japan.

The launch of the HS250h sedan is seen as part of Toyota’s latest efforts to bring fuel-efficient hybrid vehicles into the mainstream as governments worldwide are making rules on emissions and fuel economy stricter, along with offering consumers incentives to buy cars that pollute less.
