First of all, do you know who “The Bunny Butcher” is?

Well, if you thought of Donna Karan, you’re right, because that’s how PETA used to call her.

I’m using past tense, because the famous fashion designer announced that the fall 2009 collection will be fur-free and that future lines will also be fur-free. Even though we’re not fans of what PETA does, it sure sounds like a good direction to be heading to.

We’re genuinely happy because it looks like a great victory for animals, but I’m really skeptical about keeping her hands off fur. Plus, what’s she going to do, use more synthetic fabrics made of petroleum-based fibers?

Meanwhile, congrats to Donna Karan. - via Ecorazzi

The Miss Earth 2008 Competition is happening in Manila, where 85 beauties from around the world are declaring their campaigns for a ‘green lifestyle.’

Asia has some of their best - Miss China Zhou Yingkun, 22. Miss Macau Qian Wei Na, 22, Miss Thailand Piya Porn (her real name) Deejing, 20, Miss Singapore Ivy Leow Kian Peng, 25, Miss Philippines Karla Henry, 22, Miss Taiwan Tsai Yin Yin, 19 and Miss India Tanvi Vyas, 22.

I don’t know if you think these girls and their display of unity for a green lifestyle motivates you think green thoughts, but I sure like looking, um, thinking about it at their expense. At least they are not the PETA girls.

That may be a weird title, but there’s something behind. Leonardo di Caprio and the guys at DeclareYourself.com came out with a video where most of the Hollywood celebrities tell you to go register and vote if you care about your country. If you care about the education system, welfare, the minimum wage, women’s rights, civil rights, the economy but also the environment, climate change and much more things related with what we do here on GreenPacks.

Therefore, don’t vote unless you don’t care, but register and vote if you do care. Not a bad initiative, what do you think? Are you registered?

Mr Clean - Mr ProperCleanliness is next to godliness. A green world is a godly concept, too. In that regard, House Peters, Jr, Mr. Clean, did his part to make the world a better place for 92-years. He died yesterday.

At GreenPaks we want our world to not just be green, but also cleaner, healthier and a friendlier place for animals.

Peters was an actor, as well as a commercial star for Procter & Gamble. But, what he really taught us is that cleanliness is indeed a better way of life. That means ridding the world of pollution, too, no?

Ed Westwick and Drew Barrymore are making their contribution to global climate change. The celeb blogosphere is going volcanic with news of the two hanging out and well, doing other PG-rated things…that we know of. Maybe more. Steamy, hot…and other such passionate words are being tossed about regarding a recent make out session between the 21-year old star and 33-year old star.

Truthfully, I don’t know about those things. What I do know, is that Barrymore has a passion for making the world a better place. Barrymore gets it. She worked with the World Food Program and made trips to Africa to document the goings on there. (more…)
