John McCain is apt to come out on top this November in the presidential election. You wouldn’t know that he has a chance to win by reading anything else in the media. Thank goodness, we bloggers have a voice.

Reason 1 – John McCain has suspended his campaign to help push the bailout plan. Gosh, a congressman who works. What a novelty.

Reason 2 – Barak is playing catch up to McCain giving consideration to halting his crazy money raising/spending activities, too.

Reason 3 – McCain believes something needs to be done to combat global warming. I might add, that none of these two reasons so far are why I would vote for him. The bailout seems ridiculous and global climate change is not something we can fight..unless he means educating the world on being better stewards of the planet. I believe in treating our planet better.

Reason 4 – Palin is his running mate. I caught a glimpse of a CNN report the other morning that was criticizing McCain for his choice of Palin because she does not buy into all the human caused global climate change hype. I don’t see this as a point to criticize at all. If McCain and Palin thought exactly alike, why would we need both of them?

McCain does not think of himself first, he works, he leads, and even he’s not always right, he know how to listen or least choose team members who are not yes-people. That’s why he’ll win.

“A Touch of Pink” fashion show is happening in Toronto. Eight Canuck designers revealed their designs as part of “The White Cashmere Collection” and “Fashion with Compassion for a Future without Breast Cancer.”

GP picked up on this idea because we think making good use of recycled paper makes good sense. BUT!!! We don’t want this kind of paper recycled, do we? Recycled toilet paper would give new meaning to the “Hey, there’s a stain on your dress.” Okay, I agree, that’s nasty.

So, what happens to these girls when they get caught in the rain? Seriously, isn’t there a limit to what to do, what can be done with paper?

Would you wear something made out of toilet paper?

Can you imagine the conversation – “If you are not careful, I am going to TP you.”

“Oh, would you, please?”

In the name of conservation, of course.

Now that we do know a bit about Matt Damon, Sarah Palin and the dinosaurs, another celebrity is taking on the Alaskan Governer saying “I can’t stand her. She can suck it”. Suck what, you may ask …

However, the most interesting part is who made this juicy political commentary and why? Well guys, Pamela Anderson did in an E! network interview after being told that governor Palin has a large bearskin rug in her office.

I’m not sure how good/much she understands politics, but the pink vegetarian definitely took the bait on that one and proved that her opinions on politics are meaningless, too, I’m not sure how good she is on environment policies or if she’s just interested in animals or not, but I do have a question.

Her (probably) sudden love for animals is because she needs a better image to cover her porn history or does she really want to do something for our furry friends? Wanna guess where I put my money on?

We really think your body, hair and everything look great on you, but how about refraining yourself from political statements dear? Check out Pam … doing it.

Just for the record, Anderson is a PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) activist, and you already know what we think about their protests. Stand up people (girls)! Better get right to the point like Pam did.

We like animals here at GP. We don’t like when they are mistreated, however. And, we don’t like when they pollute the place! Some 250,000 blue rubber ducks cooperated on a world record this year for the most plastic ducks in one place. Seriously.

Does somebody really keep track of how many rubber ducks get together in one place from time to time? Did somebody actually count the ducks? One little rubber ducky, two little rubber duckies, three little rubber duckies ….

The rubber ducks were tossed into the river by the Hampton Court Palace as part of the Great British Duck Race. The Brits need to find something else to do. The ducks are blue because last year people threw their own yellow duckies in uninvited.

There is a 2 pound entry fee and a 10,000 pound first prize for the ducky who floats the fastest. The money raised went to charity. Perhaps the start of this race can be traced back to 1992 when 29,000 rubber ducks fell overboard from a boat in the Pacific Ocean and floated about for some 15 years.

Listen and you can hear some Brits saying, “My rubber ducky is faster than yours.”

BTW, who is going to clean up this mess?

Sure enough, if Batman had a cat it would likely be this little fellow. Or, if a cat wanted to hang out with Batman … then … wait!! Is that you Catwoman?

Apparently, the woman in the pic found this little feline being passed around in a Chicago bar and decided to take him home. Is she Catwoman?

yoda1.jpg

Yoda is the cat’s name and HE has four ears, two of them Batman like and all of them Catwoman like. Angelia Jolie has been hanging out with porn star Tera Patrick, to learn lessons on how to be Catwoman. Maybe, just maybe, what Angelina needs is a Catman. And, maybe this little fellow is the dude she needs.

Batman!!! Are you reading this?

In some circles I suppose Paris Hilton is doing her part to heat things up, cause more global warming, maybe, and in others she is just making a fool out of herself…and me, too for caring what she thinks. In any event, people read about her, look at her…and I hope, never listen to her.

Hilton’s energy plan – “We can do limited offshore drilling with strict environmental oversight while creating tax incentives to get Detroit making hybrid and electric cars.”

I’m betting she either read that off a script, it was tucked into her travel magazine, or someone was whispering it in her ear.

Offshore drilling is not outsourcing dental care, Paris.

Can you spell ‘environmental’ Paris?

And, what do you know about oversight, Paris? Who’s watching over you.

Incentive is not putting a penny into the arcade machine to get a souvenir, Pairs.

And, how much does it cost to fill up your limousine and jet to go gallivanting around the world?

One last question – Do you know where Detroit is?

In any event, the world is getting hotter each time Paris and the likes blow hot air and strip down just to heat things up, no?

Tokyo will be hosting its 21st International Film Festival from October 18th-26th. Not wanting to be outdone by filmmakers across the big pond to the east, can you say Hollywood?, TIFF has a green theme – “Action! for Earth.” Protection and preservation of the environment will be the common theme of films that are exhibited during the week long event. No red carpet this year either. It’ll be green! That will surely save the world.

“One of the most urgent problems we now face is protecting the Earth’s environment,” said a press statement. “While many individual films have grappled with how to sustain our environment, no international film festival has yet stopped to champion this issue.”

The festival will take place in Roppongi and Shibuya districts, two areas of Tokyo that probably consumes more energy in a week than all of India does in a year. TIFF says, “We hope that our ideas will resonate far beyond the film community, contributing to the global conversation on our planet’s future.”

We hope they will show their movies using renewable energy sources or not show them at all.

Britney Spears is looking for something greener, quieter, something with a bigbritneyspearsgreen.jpg backyard where she can hang out or is it let things hang out. When I saw this news I thought Britney was looking to help out with the green movement; she’s not. She’s looking for a new house. She also wants something that is ‘less trafficked’, something where she and the kids can find some normalcy, whatever that might be.

I think Britney would do well to get her head screwed on straight. Though GP would like to see her activism, she needs to get herself straightened out, get her family back together, control her behavior. The green movement will be fine without her. After all, what’s more important than family?

Those guys on the airplane tell you to put your O2 mask on first, then help your kids. We want to see Britney take care of herself, then come out. GP does hope she finds life greener in another backyard.
