Stop the dependence on oil is the rallying cry.  Are there alternative, alternate fuel sources to oil?

There are. Here are 12 of them …

1. Wind power – is a converted form of solar energy. The atmosphere warms differently. Hot air rises, reducing the atmospheric pressure at the earth’s surface, and cooler air is drawn in to replace it. The result is wind.
2. Solar power – concentrating solar power systems, passive solar heating and daylighting, photovoltaic systems, solar hot water, and solar process heat and space heating and cooling.
3. Tidal power – Energy produced by tidal waves

With the alternative fuels hype going on, the debate for a better choice between hydrogen and methanol is on and whoever would be the winner, it would benefit the mankind either ways. The ecologists have re-instated their faith in methanol based on the fact that making hydrogen commonly available as a fuel is a tough deal.

Do you methanol?

The Syngas (steamed reformed methane) that gets converted into liquid hydrocarbons is the potential substitute provided fossil fuels are not brought into use in the formation.
